In 1964, Dr. Bob Brandon began the practice of urology in Fayetteville; He was joined in practice in 1967 by Dr. W. Ely Brooks and by Dr. Jan Turley in 1973.  Dr. Turley moved his practice to Rogers in 1976.  In 1977, Dr. Jim Pickett joined the group.  Dr. Brandon retired in 1980 and Dr. Brooks retired in 1983.  Dr. T. Stephen Shaddox joined the group in 1980.  In January 1989, Dr. William Fairchild and Dr. William Higginbothom merged their practice into Northwest Arkansas Urology Associates.  Dr. Fairchild retired in 2001 and Dr. Michael Wilson joined the group in 2002.  Dr. Chad Brekelbaum joined the practice in 2003.  Dr. Richard McWhorter joined the practice in 2005 and stayed until 2006, Drs, Higginbothom and Shaddox also retired from the practice in 2006.  In 2007 Dr. Nirmal Kilambi joined Drs. Wilson and Brekelbaum to form Urology Specialties of Northwest Arkansas dba Northwest Arkansas Urology Associates.

The practice of urology is a surgical subspecialty confined to the surgical and non surgical treatment of diseases of the genitourinary system.


The organization exists to serve the patients of Northwest Arkansas, in a medically appropriate and efficient manner with a human touch and genuine respect.
